About the University

The University of Bialystok was established in 1997 from the Branch of Warsaw University. Today university is one of the largest and strongest academic centres in North-Eastern Poland due to its scientific standards and potential.

The University of Bialystok educating in various fields of study, including humanities, social and natural sciences and mathematics. It has 9 faculties and 51 specialties. The University develops research connected with the subject of borderland, co-operates with scientific institutions of Lithuania, Belarus, Ukraine and Russia, and, within European research programs, fulfills common undertakings with western partners, such as France, Germany, United Kingdom, United States of America and the Netherlands.

Excellent conditions and facilities for studying are a great asset of the University. It has a modern campus housing Faculties of Mathematical and natural Sciences. There are laboratories equipped with excellent advanced research apparatus and student studios. Nearby forest, green roofs of the buildings, water ponds and brooks in courtyards facilitate scientific work and close contact with nature at the same time. The Faculties of Humanities, Law, and Economic and Management, on the other hand, are located in historical buildings in the very centre of Bialystok.
